To commemorate the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day the CP has arranged to bring over leading South African Communist Joyce Moloi-Moropa to address trade unionists, socialists and communists at meetings across Britain.
The tour is being jointly organised with the Communist Party of Ireland, see the CPoI website for details of events in Ireland.
Cde Moloi-Moropa is a leading member of the African National Congress, member of its executive, member of parliament, chair of the parliamentary committee on public services & administration and the deputy chair of the South African Communist Party.
Joyce will be addressing the challenges faced by women in South Africa since the overthrow of apartheid, how the ANC government and tripartite alliance is attempting to address these challenges and the state of the movement for women’s liberation & socialism in South Africa & internationally.
She will be speaking at a Morning Star meeting in Cardiff on Tuesday 9th March, the Morning Star fringe meeting at the Women’s TUC conference in Eastbourne on Thursday 11th March, Women’s Liberation Movement Conference @ 40 conference in Oxford on Friday 12th March and at a Rally & Cultural evening organised by the Co-ordinating Committee of Communist Parties in Britain in London at the School of African & Oriental Studies on Saturday 13th March.
