WORLD’S POLITICAL PARTIES IN BEIJING MEETING TO DISCUSS HUMANITY’S FUTURE

More than 450 representatives of parties across the political spectrum in 122 countries gathered in Beijing over the weekend in a three-day ‘high-level’ meeting called by the Communist Party of China (CPC).

They were joined by 151 leaders and officials of the CPC international department and associated state and party institutions to discuss the theme of ‘Working Together for a Shared Future for Humanity’.

BRITISH AND CHINESE COMMUNISTS IN ‘FRUITFUL’ TALKS

Strengthening relations between communist parties and celebrating the 200th anniversary of Marx’s birth next year were among the topics discussed at a bilateral meeting in London this week between a deputation from the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and officers of the Communist Party of Britain.

Statement from the Communist Party of Britain on the repressive measures by the Spanish state in Catalonia

The Communist Party of Britain condemns the repressive actions taken by the Spanish government to halt the independence referendum in Catalonia.  It sends its solidarity to the Communist Party of Spain, the United Left and other progressive forces who gathered over the weekend at the Assembly of Representatives in Zaragoza to assert and defend the rights of the Catalonian people to hold a referendum on their national future.

SOLIDARITY WITH UKRAINE’S COMMUNISTS! NO TO FASCIST-STYLE BANS!

The Ban

In December 2015, the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU) was outlawed. The ban has been condemned around the world. Amnesty International called it ‘a flagrant violation of freedom of expression and association’ which should be immediately overturned.
